Jessie Haynes files grievance against BISD after being taken off assault leave

Posted: Updated:
BEAUMONT -

The communications director for the Beaumont Independent School District, Jessie Haynes, has been taken off of assault leave.

She requested that leave on August 5 of last year.

Haynes claimed she had been hurt in a scuffle with BISD Trustee Mike Neil, a scuffle that led to her being charged with a Class B misdemeanor for obstructing a public passageway.

Sources with BISD have told us Haynes has filed a grievance against the district for taking her off assault leave.

Her hearing is next week.

The state also has denied her Worker's Compensation claim, and she's appealing that denial.
