The South Texas State Fair like you've never seen it before

Posted: Updated:

The sun was shining and a cool breeze was blowing... perfect conditions for fair-goers Saturday.
"With the rain that we've had the past 2 days, we're expecting just an enormous crowd out here today," said YMBL South Texas State Fair chairman Bill Collins.

Kids under 17 got in for free from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., something that Fannett resident Chrystal Ware, who brought her 7 children, greatly appreciated.

"It helps a lot out... we probably wouldn't have been able to make it out here otherwise," Ware said.

The carnival rides were at the top of a lot of people's to-do lists.

This year 12News brought a GoPro camera to the fair, and brought it on a couple rides to get some amazing shots and viewpoints.

First up was the daunting "Super Shot". It takes you up slow then drops back towards earth in the blink of an eye.

Take a look at the video above to see the incredible footage.

Next up was the extremely popular "Round-Up"which spins you around like a top.

That was the last ride on our adventure, but the fun didn't stop for the thousands who came out Saturday to enjoy one of Southeast Texas' most beloved traditions.
