Texas Rangers investigating officer-involved shooting in Spurger that left one man wounded

Posted: Updated:

The Texas Rangers are investigating an officer-involved shooting that happened in the Spurger area, around 7:30 p.m. Thursday.

One man was shot by an officer.

Tyler County Chief Deputy Phil Ryan tells 12News, multiple agencies were responding to a disturbance at a home on County Road 4375.

Chief Ryan says he would await the Texas Rangers investigation before determining which officer wounded the man.

The man was taken by medical helicopter to the hospital, but Ryan did not know if he was flown to Houston or Beaumont.

Ryan says the man was in stable condition, and no officers were injured.

Investigators are still at the scene, and Chief Ryan hopes to have more information to release by 10:00 a.m. Friday.
