Meth, Ecstasy, and Xanax found in Orange County school zone


Detectives with the Orange County Special Services Division found a hidden stash of drugs during a traffic stop near Orangefield High School.

A police spokesperson said detectives saw a joint of synthetic marijuana on the center console  When they searched the vehicle, they found 23 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount of Ecstasy, and several tablets of Xanax.

The driver, identified as Scott Shaunesey, and the passenger, identified as Christopher Briggs, were arrested on the felony charge of possession of a controlled substance in a drug free zone.

Shaunesey already had three felony indictments; two for tampering with a government document and one for unauthorized use of a vehicle.

Both suspects remain in custody at the Orange County Jail.
