West, Morrison to face off in runoff for 252nd Criminal District Court Judge

Raquel West and Stella Morrison will go to a runoff in May.

The two longtime attorneys are vying for the Democratic nomination in the race for 252nd District Court Judge which was previously held by Layne Walker.

West had won 4,310 or 39 percent of voters. Morrison had won 3519 or 32 percent. She edged out Buddy Reynolds Jr. who came a very close third with 3,335 votes or 30 percent.

Republican candidate Carolyn Weidenfeld is running unopposed and will face off against either West or Morrison in November.

The runoff election is May 27.
