Meet Mardi Gras street performer Jerry Brown and his monkey Django

Posted: Updated:

12News caught up with Southeast Texas Mardi Gras street performer Jerry Brown and his capuchin monkey named Django Friday night.

Brown says he and Django have been entertaining kids (and adults) at Mardi Gras for the last 6 years.

"I saw a guy, an old guy years and years ago working with a monkey and thought how much fun it would be," said Brown.

Django will sit on people's shoulders and pose for pictures, grab tips from people's hands, and many other tricks.

Check out the video above for the full interview with Brown.
