Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 21, 2014
Hannon Hill Corporation has released Cascade Server 7.10, the newest version of its award-winning enterprise content management system. The latest version of its CMS continues the companys on-going initiative to improve the user experience for end users, marketers, web developers, and administrators with a number of new features and improvements.
Cascade Server 7.10 features a brand new modular user dashboard that is more customizable than ever before. The dashboard interface greets users with a host of new widgets and charts each time they log into Cascade Server. Example widgets include site analytics charts, stale content charts, recently viewed pages, saved content drafts, and content creation wizards, among others.
We have had incredible traction in making Cascade Server the CMS of choice for marketers, and the new dashboard builds on that theme for us, said Holly Wright, Marketing Manager at Hannon Hill. With the new dashboard, every single user has access to actionable widgets and analytics that may otherwise be inaccessible to certain groups. By allowing individuals to completely customize their own dashboards, we are empowering them to focus on what matters most to their organizations.
Cascade Server 7.10 also introduces Smart Fields on pages for end users creating and editing content in the system. With Smart Fields, site designers and administrators can completely recreate the editing experience for their end users by showing only the most necessary form fields initially and then subsequently revealing more editable fields to the user as needed.
Smart Fields, or the concept of progressive disclosure, as it is often called, is a tremendous new tool that has the power to drastically improve the user experience for content contributors in Cascade Server. By guiding end users through editing a page--a few form fields at a time--we aim to increase organizational adoption and make end-user training easier, said Hannon Hills Vice President of Engineering, Bradley Wagner.
Cascade Server 7.10 also brings more improvements to the editing experience on mobile devices. Over the last several releases, Hannon Hill has made incremental adjustments to the mobile editing interface in Cascade Server and plans to continue this initiative beyond 7.10 in order to make the mobile editing experience as close as possible to the powerful and intuitive desktop experience.
More and more of our clients are launching mobile and responsively designed sites powered by Cascade Server. Our goal is to make our application as convenient and useful as the incredible sites our clients are creating and managing with Cascade Server, said Charlie Holder, Head of Customer Experience at Hannon Hill. Stay tuned as we continue to fine-tune this experience for our users.
Other features added in Cascade Server 7.10 include making Hannon Hills Advanced Editor available for editing HTML, larger icons for navigating the folder tree and controlling page fields, and new interfaces for managing publish triggers and custom user authentication.
