Man indicted in gasoline attack case


A man was indicted this week a charge of aggravated assault following a Dec. 28 incident in which a man was doused with gasoline and set on fire.

The grand jury Thursday handed up the one-count indictment against Micah Distefano, 27, of Nederland.

According to12News file stories, Zachary Bailey, 29, of Groves, had gasoline thrown on him and then ignited. Bailey suffered 3rd degree burns over 67 percent of his body.

Distefano is currently held at the Jefferson County Jail on $125,000 bond. He faces up to 20 years in prison if convicted.
