Joshua Glaze gets life in prison for 2012 murder of Brian Drake

A jury in Hardin County has convicted and sentenced a second man in the shooting death of a Lamar University student.

Joshua Glaze was found guilty Tuesday in the 2012 murder of Brian Drake after a little over two hours of deliberation Tuesday. Glaze Wednesday was sentenced to life in prison for the crime.

According to 12News file stories, a spokesperson for the Hardin County Sheriff's Office said Drake and two friends were driving highway 326 when someone in a white Durango began to follow them. Shots were fired at Drakes vehicle, one fatally hitting him in the neck.

Prosecutors say Curtis Glaze fired the fatal shot from the passenger seat of the Durango. He was tried and convicted of 1st degree murder in December and received a life sentence.

Joshua Glaze admitted to authorities he was the driver of the white Durango. His trial started Monday.

Glaze said in an interview with authorities that his intent was to identify who was in Drake's truck the night of the shooting.
