Beaumont man could face 125 years for sexual assault of a child

Posted: Updated:

Bobby Shaun Frederick pled guilty to four counts of sexual assault of a child and one count of aggravated sexual assault of a child in exchange for a plea deal. The 33-year-old man chose the deal offered by the state, instead of going to trial.

Sentencing for each of the five charges will be capped at 25 years and he will serve the terms concurrently.

Prosecutors said Frederick lived in the same neighborhood as his 13-year-old and 15-year-old victims. Authorities say the girls would drink alcohol at Frederick's house and that he had even babysat the 15-year-old in the past.

As part of that deal Frederick waived all of his rights to an appeal. Also, he will not be eligible for parole until he has served half his sentence and will have to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

Frederick was also convicted in Jefferson County in May 2009 of robbery. His prior history could bump his second degree felonies up to first degree felonies.

Sentencing for all five charges will take place on Feb. 18 at 9 a.m. in Judge Stevens court.
