Hardin County firefighter injured, cause of mobile home blaze under investigation

A fire chief with Lumberton EMS told 12News that a firefighter who received an injury to his left shoulder is the only one who was injured following a fire that destroyed a mobile home on Caywood Street Tuesday morning.

Lumberton EMS Fire Chief Robert Simonson said dispatchers received the call shortly after 10 a.m. When fire crews arrived the back part of the trailer was fully involved with flames.  Firefighters were told that the only person was home when the fire started was able to get out safely.

The trailer may be a total loss, but Chief Simonson said some of the homeowner's items from the front part of the trailer appeared to be salvageable.

It took around 40 minutes to get the flames under control.

Chief Simonson said the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
