Possible auto-pedestrian accident victim in critical condition

The Port Arthur Police Department is investigating what its calling a possible auto-pedestrian accident that left a 72-year-old man in critical condition. Officers responded to a call around 1:55a.m. Saturday morning about a man down in the parking lot area of the Capri Club located at 8585 9th Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found the man suffering from serious injuries. He was transported to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont.

Officers believe there may have been some type of disturbance in the area was the man was found and at some point during or after the disturbance the man was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. Officers were able to gather some evidence from the scene.

The victim is described as a white male and it's not known if he lives in Port Arthur.
