Republican Party rules Phelan eligible to run for office

The Republican Party of Texas has ruled that State Representative district 21 candidate Dade Phelan is eligible to run for the office.

Party chairman Steve Munisteri told 12News this afternoon that the party did not find clear evidence to contradict sworn statements about where Phelan lives.

Texas Nationalist movement president Daniel Miller complained that Phelan lived outside district 21.

Munisteri ruled that there wasn't enough documented evidence to take Phelan off the ballot.
Tea Party Republican Judy Nichols and Democrat Gavin Bruney are also running for the district 21 seat.
