Stolen Lumberton fire truck found in Tyler County

A brush truck that was stolen from the Lumberton Fire Department has been recovered miles away in Tyler County.

It was found stuck in a ditch Monday afternoon at Barlow Lake Estates.

Hardin County Chief Deputy Kenny Davenport said the truck was taken from the Lumberton fire station on Keith Road either Sunday night or Monday morning.

Fire officials didn't know it had been stolen until a sheriff's deputy contacted them.

The chief deputy said there were no signs of forced entry into the truck and the case remains under investigation.
