People across the world are showing their sympathy for an area newborn who was taken off life support Wednesday at just four days old.
Olivia Marie Coats passed away around 5 p.m. She was taken off life support at a Houston Hospital around 3 p.m.
Baby Olivia was born December 28 by emergency C-section at the Medical Center of Southeast Texas. But only after a failed Assisted Vaginal Birth using forceps crushed her skull and severed her spinal cord according to her family.
Olivia's family asked followers of a facebook page named after her to turn on Christmas lights or light a candle in memory of the infant.
The responses flooded in.
Brandy Shipp posted "Christmas Tree lights lit and porch lights lit for your sweet angel baby in Lumberton."
Jarie Brea said "lights on in New York, praying for your family. R.I.P. little angel.
Angel Sidlow posted "Candle burning in England. Fly high Olivia."
Olivia's parents want a law created banning the use of forceps during hospital births. Olivia's funeral is being handled by Broussard's Mortuary.
