Two injured in downtown Beaumont shooting

Beaumont police are investigating a shooting that left two people injured.

The shooting happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Orleans and Liberty; near the Federal Courthouse.

Police say one person was shot in the face and the other was shot in the ankle.  Both are expected to survive.

The victim who was shot in the face was taken to Herman Memorial in Houston to undergo reconstructive plastic surgery.

According to police, there was an altercation in front of Club Xclusive after the club had closed. Police say as the shooter was getting into a vehicle, he fired several shots at the victims. The shooter then fled the scene.

The victims could not give police a description of the shooter or the vehicle. If you have any information, contact Beaumont police.
