"Vigil for Justice" held in Jasper in memory of Alfred Wright

Posted:

It was a somber Christmas Eve for the family of Alfred Wright, the Jasper man whose body was found in Hemphill about two weeks after he went missing.

Wright's family held what they called a "Vigil for Justice" Tuesday night in his memory at the Nehemiah Family Life Center on Pollard street in Jasper.

In a recent development in this case, the Texas Department of Public Safety and the Texas Rangers are now the lead investigators on the Wright case.

Preliminary autopsy results on Wright's body came back inconclusive, but a second autopsy ordered by the man's family showed signs of a homicide.
