Port Arthur police are looking for a man they say robbed and stabbed a woman Friday evening at the Walmart on Twin City Highway.

According to a press release, police responded to the Walmart around 6:30pm Friday. Police say a woman was getting into her car in the parking lot when an unknown man forced her driver door open, demanding she give him her purse. Police say the man stabbed the woman on her hand after she attempted to fight him off. The suspect was able to get the woman's purse and police say he then got in a tan/brown car with another person and drove away.

The driver of the getaway car is described by police as a white female and the suspect is described as a white male. No other descriptions were provided.

The victim was treated for minor injuries and released at the scene. Police say she was able to give officers a license plate number from the suspect vehicle, which police are still searching for as of Saturday afternoon.
