Call from neighbor lands two accused burglars in jail

Two men are in jail thanks to a neighbor who called the sheriff's office to report a burglary in progress.

The burglary happened Thursday at a house located in the 400 block of East 1st Street in Stowell. A neighbor told a dispatcher that two men went into the house through a window.

Deputy Rodney Kahla was nearby and arrived on scene in a few minutes of the call, followed by Lieutenant Tony King, Deputy Jim Croley and a DPS trooper.

The men were quickly found and taken into custody.

Skulee Ray Williams, 20, and Devin Travond White, 19, both of Winnie, have been charged with burglary of a residence.
