Fire Destroys 2 unit apartment in Mid-County

A fast moving fire destroyed a two-unit apartment building in Central Gardens.  The blaze left two people two people displaced from their home.

Firefighters arrived at the apartment located in the 2700 block of Tyler Drive around 6:19 a.m.

Chief Lance Wood with Water District 10 tells 12News two people had to be rescued.

Firefighters were on scene for about five hours.

Nederland and Port Neches Groves Fire Departments assisted.

No injuries reported.
