An elementary school student was killed and five other people were injured in a school bus's crash with a dump truck in western Idaho on Thursday morning, Idaho State Police said.
The bus, carrying yup to 10 children, was headed to Crimson Point Elementary School in Kuna when the crash happened in Nampa at about 8 a.m. MT (10 a.m. ET), state police spokeswoman Teresa Baker said.
Details about what led to the crash weren't immediately available. Baker said the crash was under investigation and the cause hadn't been determined.
One student died at the scene, and four other students and an adult were taken to hospitals with unspecified injuries, police said.
Video from CNN affiliate KTVB showed the bus had damage to one of its sides, toward the rear.
