The rain train has stopped by several times over the last 2 months. Remember the drought we had this summer? Here in Southeast Texas feast or famine is quite common. For the later half of summer, we were facing rainfall deficits of over 6 inches for the entire year. Then we got a good 3.49 inches of rainfall on September 20th, followed by additional daily rainfall totals of 2.45, 1.41, and the latest 3.26 inches on Halloween. Keep in mind these totals are only taken from the Jack Brooks Regional Airport. Fall has definitely taken care of any lingering drought problems across the area.
Right now we are standing 4.34 inches above normal since September 1st and just 0.32 inches above normal for the year.
