Neighbors say a 59-year-old woman charged with murder in the stabbing death of her ex-husband, stayed in his house with the body for a week before the death was discovered.

Investigators believe Gayle Annette Waller stabbed Daniel Lee Dubois, 59, of Port Arthur, around 11 p.m. on October 26 at a house located at 2860 Manning Street. Dubois's brother found the body on November 2.

A neighbor told 12News that Dubois was known to spend hours outside the house working on cars and trucks he planned to sell. Suspicion was raised about a week ago he simply stopped going outside. The only person seen at the house was Dubois' ex wife Gayle who was staying at Dubois' home.

A spokesperson for the Port Arthur Police Department said Waller gave a statement to investigators. The statement was corroborated by physical evidence.

Waller is in the Jefferson County jail with bond set at $200,000.

Port Arthur Police Sergeant Scott Gaspard said when Dubois' body was found Dubois' brother around 3 p.m. Saturday; the body was wrapped in a blanket.

An autopsy was ordered by Jefferson County Precinct 2 Justice of the Peace Judge Marc DeRouen.
