Boil Water Notice for Mountain Water Supply

(KCEN) -- The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality has issued a boil water notice for customers of Mountain Water Supply Corp. in Gatesville.

The notice applies for Cedar Lane West and all of Greenbriar Estates.

The boil water notice is due to a break in the main transmission line under Highway 84.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, bottled water or water from another suitable source is also recommended.

The boil water notice will remain in effect until the leak is repaired and water samples come back positive.

Water system officials will notify customers when it is safe to cease boiling.
