San Diego ex-mayor booked at jail, released

By David Simpson

(CNN) -- Former San Diego Mayor Bob Filner was booked at a jail Saturday morning and released a few hours later, San Diego County Sheriff's Lt. Dave Schaller said.

Filner pleaded guilty Tuesday to felony false imprisonment and two misdemeanor battery charges for his behavior against three women.

Under a plea agreement with prosecutors, he will be sentenced to three months of home confinement and three years of probation. He will be required to undergo mental health treatment.

The felony charge said Filner used force to restrain a woman at a fund-raising event. The misdemeanor charges say he kissed a woman on the lips without her consent at City Hall and grabbed a woman's buttock at a rally.

Filner was elected mayor in November after being a congressman for 20 years. He resigned after 19 women this year accused him of offensive behavior during his tenure as mayor and as a congressman.
