Two Beaumont men are in jail after police say a woman caught them breaking into her car Tuesday night.
12News spoke with Officer Carol Riley by phone. She said around 10 p.m. officers were near the Timberlake Court Apartments located at 125 Interstate 10 when a tenant called to report that two men were inside her car. Police arrived and the men tried to run away, but officers were able to quickly catch them.
The victim positively identified the suspects as the men she saw inside her car. Officer Riley said one of the men had property that was taken from the vehicle.
The two men were arrested for burglary of a vehicle and evading arrest. They are identified by police as Christopher Flanigan, 19, and Patrick Galbert, 17, both of Beaumont.
As of 11 a.m. both Flanigan and Galbert remained in jail. Each is held on a $500 bond for burglary of a vehicle and a $250 bond for evading arrest.
A background check of Flanigan showed one prior conviction for theft. A check of Galbert's record found no prior convictions.
