Bank robber leaves trail of money

Beaumont police are investigating a Thursday-morning bank robbery at the BBVA Compass Bank in the 700 block of Calder Avenue.

Beaumont Police Sgt. Rob Flores told 12News the robbery was reported around 9:45 a.m.

The robber is described as a black male in his 20's who was wearing a grey hoodie, grey shirt that was partially covering his face, jeans and white shoes. He pulled out a knife and demanded money before running away.

Officers searched the area around the bank using police dogs.  They recovered money that the robber dropped as he fled the bank.  The trail of money shows that the robber ran through the parking lot of St. mark's Episcopal Church.
