COLUMBUS, Ohio, Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- TextbookRush.com has found the best college dorm room in America. Chosen from 500 qualified entries, Abigail Strickland, from the University of Central Arkansas, was awarded the top prize; a $1000 gift card to Target.
On September 23, hundreds of entries began pouring in for the TextbookRush.com #DeckedOutDorm promotion, an Instagram based contest where students would submit pictures of their decorated dorm rooms. The first 500 qualified entries received a $25 Target gift card each with the grand-prize winner receiving a $1,000 gift card to Target. All entries were posted to www.textbookrush.com/deckedoutdorm
After a week and a half of reviewing some extraordinary dorms, the qualified entrants were narrowed down to 15 finalists who were then reviewed by our panel of judges, all publishers of college related blogs. The judges, the authors of College Info Geek, Surviving College and The Lovely Side, scored the contestants and selected the winner based on originality and creativity.
Our grand prize winner, Abigail, says: "I plan on buying an iPad mini and a lot of clothes as well as shoes and jewelry! Since I live the dorm life, I'm sure I will buy lots of groceries. I love Target! They have the cutest clothes. Thank you TextbookRush!"
TextbookRush.com thanks all of those who participated in the contest and the celebrity judges for making the tough decision of picking the best dorm.
