'She killed my daddy!' Man's son reacts to shooting death

A 63-year-old Hardin County man is dead after authorities say he was shot by his common-law wife in an act of self-defense.

A spokesperson for the Hardin County Sheriff's Office said Friday a Kountze area woman shot and killed her common-law husband after he broke a window to their home with a metal lawnmower blade.

Hardin County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Kenny Davenport told 12News it happened Friday morning in the 7000 block of FM 943 off 1003 north of Kountze.

The victim, identified as Bob Anderson Sr., was struck with at least one bullet in the upper body with a pistol.

Davenport said a protective order was filed against the man on September 6 after an altercation between the couple.

"She killed my daddy!" shouted Bobby Anderson Jr. as he walked up to the home.

"You're damn right I'm mad!" he added.

Anderson told 12News, "I want justice to be done is what I want. I want her to go to jail for killing my daddy."

He said his father and step-mother had been together off and on for 30 years.

Anderson Sr. was pronounced dead by Hardin County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Judge Chip Ingram.
