According to 12News file stories, the stabbing happened at a house in the 300 block of 15th Street in Nederland. When officers arrived they found a man, identified as Melancon, with a single stab wound to the chest. Melancon was conscious at the time and told police he was stabbed by Kasper. He said Kasper was still inside the house and was armed with a knife.
Melancon was taken by ambulance to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth in Beaumont where he died.
When officers arrested Kasper, they say he told them he recently had visions that Melancon was going to stab him with the same knife.
