The superintendent for the Silsbee Independent School District declined comment, releasing only a quotation from the district's code of conduct for extracurricular activities.

"Participation in extracurricular activities is a privilege. When students put on the MAROON and WHITE and compete for Silsbee ISD, they are not only representing themselves, they are representing the school and community. Because of this huge responsibility, high expectations are placed on students who choose to represent Silsbee ISD through participation in extracurricular activities. Students must understand that in addition to the campus handbooks and SISD Code of Conduct, more stringent rules may be placed on students who represent the district in extracurricular activities. Students who represent the district will be held to higher standards as they are role models for all other students in the district."

The players were all charged with Class B misdemeanors. It happened Tuesday after 6 p.m.
