A spokesperson for the Beaumont Police Department has released still images taken from surveillance video during an armed robbery of a north-end game room.
During the robbery, the business owner exchanged gunfire with three robbers. The game room owner was not injured in the gunfight, but one of the robbery suspects was killed.
Police identify the suspect who was killed as Duayne Deandre-Devon Smith, 25, of Port Arthur.
Sgt. Rob Flores said Smith was one of three men who attempted to rob D's Gift shop located in the 3600 block of E. Lucas.
Detectives are working to identify Smith's two accomplices.
Witnesses described one of the remaining suspects as a black male with dark skin and short hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt with below-knee length shorts with white stripes. He wore brown work-style boots.
Witnesses described the second suspect as a black male wearing all black with a light-colored shirt he used to cover his face. He wore white sneakers.
After the failed robbery attempt, the two ran east toward the Plymouth Village Apartment Complex located in the 5800 block of Helbig.
Detectives are in the process of obtaining and reviewing video from a security camera that may have captured the robbery attempt.
