A man is in jail after police say he burglarized a house in the city's north end Thursday.
Just after 3 p.m. officers were dispatched to the 1400 block of Live Oak Street where a person called police to say someone was breaking into a house. When police arrived the witness gave officers a description of the vehicle used, a black GMC single-cab pickup. The witness said the truck was going west on Live Oak.
Officers initiated a traffic stop of a vehicle matching the description at the corner of North and Gulf Streets. They detained three people that were in the truck.
During the stop officers found property in the bed of the pick-up truck that appeared to have been removed from a home. The property owner identified several items in the bed of the truck as being from his home.
Detectives conducted interviews. Once the interviews were completed, Robert Holman, 45, was taken to the Jefferson County Jail. He has been charged with Burglary.
