September 13th, 2007 Hurricane Humberto made landfall near High Island, Texas. Humberto was the second hurricane to affect Southeast Texas within two years. Humberto moved Northeast moving over Fannett, La Belle, Port Arthur, Groves and Bridge City. The storm was a small Category 1 hurricane with winds of 90 mph.
Humberto holds the distinction as being the fastest-developing hurricane every observed in the Atlantic Basin.
