BEAUMONT, Texas – A trip to national power Oklahoma State and thirteen home games highlight the 2013-14 Lamar University women's basketball schedule that was announced today.

Lamar, which was 22-11 last season and advanced to the second round of the Women's Basketball Invitational, opens the season under new coach Robin Harmony on Nov. 8, when it travels to Oklahoma State for an 11 a.m. contest against the Cowgirls, who were 22-11 last season, advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

"We're going to have to be ready right from the start," Harmony said. "We're going to see what it's like to face a national power."

Lamar will host four non-conference games at the Montagne Center this season, starting with a Nov. 11 contest against Our Lady of the Lake. Tulsa, Texas State and Rice are Lamar's other non-conference opponents in Beaumont.

Lamar's non-conference road slate will be a challenging one. In addition to the Oklahoma State contest, the Cardinals will play at UTSA, Louisiana-Lafayette, SMU and Missouri State. Lamar faces Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Northern Lamar at New Mexico State's tournament on Thanksgiving weekend.

The conference season gets under way Jan. 2 at Stephen F. Austin. Lamar opens the home conference schedule on Jan. 9 against Nicholls.Lamar hosts archrival McNeese State on Jan. 11 in the only meeting between the teams this season.
