Orange Police are trying to determine a link between a woman found with more than 50 narcotic pills and a theft earlier in the day.
Skye Frederick was arrested Friday. A police spokesperson said officers found pills on her including hydrocodone and promethazine
The same officer who made the arrest had questioned her earlier in the day about a theft. An elderly man living at Arbor pines senior Housing facility reported to police his medication had been stolen.
He told police only two people had access to his apartment, a home health care provider., and a friend, Frederick, who also helped care for him.
The victim of the theft told 12News that Frederick provided care for him out of generosity even after she was fired from her previous company for stealing.
He claims Frederick was set up, but declined an interview.
A detective said they can't directly link Frederick to the theft because the victim is not cooperating with police.
Frederick faces a Class A misdemeanor charge.
