Street named in honor of fallen BPD officer Bryan Hebert

The city of Groves named a street in the honor of fallen Beaumont police officer Bryan Hebert.

Hebert was killed in July 2011 when the driver of a car involved in a police chase purposely swerved and struck him.

As officer Bryan Hebert's mother, father and sister cut the big green ribbon, Bryan Hebert Lane was unveiled in the city of Groves.

Dozens of first responders, from Groves and Beaumont came to remember the 10-year Beaumont Police Department veteran.

The street is surrounded by 19 lots where future homes will stand.

Officer Hebert's sister Holly hopes the families will help keep her brother's memory alive.

The newly dedicated Bryan Hebert lane intersects with Joplin Avenue, which intersects with 39th Street in Groves.

The city manager believes Bryan Hebert Lane will have its first fully built home by Christmas.
