PORT ARTHUR -

A spokesperson for the Port Arthur Police Department spoke with 12News Friday about the child abuse investigation involving Baby Faith.

Texas Children's Hospital, one of the largest children's hospitals in the country, told Port Arthur Investigators that Baby Faith's injuries will lead to permanent damage, so there is a question as to the child's quality of life in the future.

A hospital spokesperson said this is one of the worst case of child abuse they have ever seen.

Sgt. Gaspard said officers expect an arrest next week.

He said it's taking so long because they "want to get it right."

Sgt. Gaspard said every adult who has been around that baby is a suspect and there were so many around her in her one month of life that it's a challenge to sort everything out.
