A spokesperson for the Beaumont Police Department has identified a woman who was shot to death at a Beaumont Hotel Tuesday morning.
The woman is identified as Kendra Crump, 27, of Monroe, Louisiana. Officers have already notified her next of kin.
Crump was shot around 4:46 a.m. Tuesday at the Knights Inn located at 4085 I-10 South.
When officers arrived at the Inn, they found a Crump with a gunshot wound to her upper body. Beaumont EMS took her to the Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth Emergency Room where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
Detectives have determined there was some type of altercation in one of the rooms of the hotel. During that altercation, Crump was shot and a man was assaulted.
The male victim suffered non-life threatening head trauma during the assault.
Sgt. Rob Flores said officers are looking for two possible persons of interest. They are both black males. One is described as tall and thin with short dread-locks wearing white shorts. The second is described as large and stocky with no other description. They may have left the motel in a gold colored four-door vehicle.
An autopsy is scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday.
