Charges filed in Hardin County ATV accident that injured child

A spokesperson for the Department of Public Safety has informed 12News that charges have been filed in connection with an ATV accident that severely injured a child in Hardin County.

The accident happened August 4 on Pan-Am Road just north of Kountze. The driver, Tkeyah Jones, 19, of Kountze, was cited for operating an ATV on a public street, road or highway. The offense is a Class C Misdemeanor.

The accident report was also reviewed by the Hardin County District Attorney's office.   After reviewing the case, the Hardin County District Attorney's office determined that no additional charges will be filed against the driver.

At this time, the two fatal ATV crashes in Bon Weir are being reviewed by the District Attorney's office in Newton County. After review of the crash investigations by the District Attorney's office, a determination will be made whether or not to file charges in the two separate ATV crashes.

The 9-year-old who was seriously injured in the ATV crash on Pan-Am Road, Noah Thomas, is still listed in stable condition in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit at UTMB in Galveston.
