Community holds vigil for victims of two ATV accidents

Posted: Updated:
NEWTON -

The community of Newton County held a candlelight vigil for Brandon McCain and Tory Foster. The two boys died from ATV accidents in less than a week.

Keith Collins organized the vigil at the Newton County Courthouse Square. Collins coached both boys in PeeWee football.

Collins says he organized the vigil last minute because he felt the community needed to come together in this time of mourning

Though they can't grasp why the two teens were taken away so young, Collins preached that it is all part of God's plan.

Foster's mother attended the vigil and had a plea for other parents.

Hang on to every moment because it counts. Please, please parents. And when I say please I mean please watch your kids. Mine was gone in a second," Bonita Williams said surrounded by family members.

Funeral services for McCain will be held Thursday morning at Fredonia Baptist Church in Newton County. Foster's services are still pending.
