Police release photos from Beaumont bank robbery

Beaumont police are investigating a bank robbery that happened Monday morning at the Prosperity Bank located at 6150 Eastex Freeway in north Beaumont.

The robbery was reported at 9:40 a.m.

A Beaumont Police Department spokesperson said a man wearing a green T-shirt, blue jeans, white tennis shoes, black sun glasses and a Dallas Cowboys blue and white hat with a star,  went into the bank and began to write a note on a piece of paper.  He handed the note to the teller. In the note, he demanded money, threatened to kill the teller and said he had a gun.

The teller handed the suspect all the money that she had in the drawer and the suspect went out of the front door running northbound on the service road.

A Beaumont Police Department spokesperson shortly after noon Monday confirmed to 12News that officers believe the robber is the same man responsible for an attempted bank robbery in Orange over the weekend.

Police ask anyone with information about this robbery to call Beaumont Crime Stoppers at 409-833-TIPS (8477.)
