Person of interest in Beaumont triple homicide arrested on non-related charges


A man police say is a person of interest in a Beaumont triple homicide was taken into custody on non-related charges overnight.

Allen James Hancock, 27, was arrested shortly before 2 a.m.  Officers found him at the Super 8 Motel in Beaumont and arrested him on drug-related charges.

Police believe he has information about the June 27 shooting death of MacGarrett Jack, 28; Preston Wilson, 62 and Joshua Ceasar, 29.

According to 12News file stories, on June 27 police were called to the 1000 block of Prairie Avenue between Neches and Park Streets where officers found all three of the deceased outside of a home under a carport. Two others were injured in the shooting.  One was taken to Christus Hospital St. Elizabeth and the other was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. 

Witnesses told police a group of men approached the home and began talking to the victims who were playing dominos under the carport.  They said an argument began and before long, shooting erupted.

A news release issued by police the day of the shooting says there were three children inside the house at the time of the shooting.  None of the kids were injured.
