Three confirmed dead in shooting at McFaddin Beach

Jefferson County deputies say at least three people including a gunman are dead after a shooting at McFaddin Beach in Jefferson County.

Chief Deputy Zena Stephens tells 12News that it appears the shooting is between a girlfriend, boyfriend and an ex boyfriend.

Law enforcement sources say the gunman was the ex-boyfriend who shot the woman and her new boyfriend.

Deputy Stephens says the 911 call that came in at about 4 p.m. reported that several people had been hit by shots and the gunman turned the gun on himself. There are no reports of any other injuries.

The Sheriff's Office helicopter was on scene taking aerial photos of the scene.

Witnesses tell 12News the woman was shot twice in the face and her boyfriend was shot four times.

Witnesses also say the gunman was driving a red truck up and down the beach before the shooting with a passenger in the truck but Sheriff Deputies could not confirm those details.

The Sheriff's Office says the woman's two children witnessed the shooting.
