Beaumont man no longer person of interest in triple homicide

Posted: Updated:

After an interview with Michael Ray Carmen, Jr., Detectives have determined that, at this point, he is no longer a person of interest in the triple homicide that occurred near the area of Park @ Prairie.  Mr. Carmen voluntarily came to the station, cooperated fully with Detectives and as such, we are asking that media outlets remove his photo from websites and social media.  Your cooperation would be greatly appreciated.

This morning, Detectives attended the autopsies performed on the three victims.  We are awaiting preliminary results that will assist in our investigation.

Detectives are continuing to identify, locate, and interview potential witnesses in this capital murder investigation.  Officers have been working non-stop since Thursday evening and believe they are getting closer to providing answers for the families of all victims.

Investigations such as this are extremely taxing, both physically and mentally.  However, we fully understand that the effects we feel are minimal when compared to the emotions felt by the victim's families as they mourn the loss of their loved ones.

Our community is outraged by this act of violence and we are receiving several tips daily.  If you have any information, we ask that you also contact Crime Stopper at 833-TIPS.  You will not be asked for your name and Detectives will investigate all tips.  If your tip helps us identify the suspects, you will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
