A former City of Orange police officer was arrested Tuesday and charged with possession of a controlled substance (hydrocodone).
According to a press release from the Orange Police Department, Taylor Scott Saleme was arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.
Police say they received a complaint from a citizen that Saleme stole prescription medicine. They say during the course of the investigation, Saleme resigned from the department.
He has since bonded out of jail.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department says Saleme worked with the department from March 2010 to August 2012. They say he resigned his position with the county to go work at the Orange Police Department.
