Port Arthur man indicted for capital murder

A Jefferson County grand jury this week indicted a Port Arthur man for capital murder in the June 6 slayings of two Port Arthur men.

Demetrius Glenn, 20, is charged in the slayings of 24-year-old Demario Polk and 23-year-old Carlos Deshawn Lowe. It happened in Port Acres at 59th Street and Topaz.

According to court documents, Polk was meeting with Glenn to purchase a gun. Glenn was in the backseat of the car when he shot both Polk and Lowe. Investigators say Lowe was not involved in the purchase of the gun and was only along for the ride.

Glenn remains in the Jefferson County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Port Arthur Police Chief Mark Blanton said Glenn admitted to the shooting.
