Police make arrest, search for more suspects in Beaumont carjackings

Beaumont police Tuesday afternoon made an arrest and are searching an area near the intersection of 11th Street and Blanchette Street for two more suspects wanted in connection with two early-morning carjackings.

A Beaumont Police Department spokesperson told 12News a carjacking happened around 3:15 a.m. on Kipling Drive in the west end.  At 4:15 a.m. officers received a report of a second carjacking near East Lucas and Eastex.  The robbers in the second carjacking stole a 2007 Gray Charger.  The robbers fired a shot at the victim, but missed.

Police believe the two carjackings are related.

Around 3:15 p.m. Tuesday the stolen Charger was spotted at the Exxon station located at College Street and Interstate 10.  Three men who were in the car ran from police.  One of the men was found and arrested near the corner of Blanchette and South 11th Streets.  Officers are looking for the other two men.

The police spokesperson said it is believed the two men are armed.
