Teen in Orange dies from puncture wounds

Police in Orange are trying to find out if there is a connection between the discovery of a teen who died from what appears to be stab or puncture wounds, and a burglary that happened Wednesday evening.

A police spokesperson said officers responded to a 911 call in the area of 6th Street and Cherry Avenue around 11 p.m.  When officers arrived they found Devon Walker, 18, of Orange, bleeding profusely from multiple injuries.

Walker was taken to Baptist Hospital Orange by Acadian Ambulance.   Doctors were unable to save his life.

Police say a home had been burglarized near the area where Walker was found.  Orange Police Captain G. Keaton said the burglary could be related.

An officer on the scene said the stab wounds could have come from a window which was broken at the burglarized house, but this determination has not yet been made.  Investigators hope to have more answers once they have autopsy results.
