Second victim of refinery fire dies from injuries

12News has confirmed that a second victim has died as a result of injuries he suffered in the April 17 fire at Beaumont's Exxon Mobil refinery.

Chad McDonald passed away Tuesday.

McDonald is the second person to die from the fire.  Dustin Creekmore also passed away as a result of his injuries late last month. Twelve workers total were injured in the fire and two are still hospitalized.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is continuing to investigate the blast.  An official said the fire was started by a leak of hydrocarbon from a heat exchanger.
